Erasmus Mundus
The mobility of individuals and the cooperation between organisations and institutions are key actions of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission for the 2021–2027 period. In the context of inter-university cooperation, the Erasmus Mundus action aims to promote the internationalisation and global excellence of higher education institutions through joint Master’s programmes delivered and recognised by European higher education institutions, with opportunities for cooperation with universities in other parts of the world.
The 27 Member States of the European Union and the following third countries associated with the programme are fully eligible to participate in all Erasmus+ actions: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Turkey.
Likewise, depending on the specific actions of the programme, certain non-associated third countries may also take part.
The Erasmus Mundus action is defined as a partnership for excellence and supports projects under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJM) as well as Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM).
According to the eligibility criteria of the programme, EMJM proposals must be submitted by a consortium composed of at least three higher education institutions from three different countries, of which at least two must be either EU Member States or third countries associated with the programme.
